COURSES & MAPS
Sumter's own golf courses are:
 Beech Creek Plantation, a championship course beautifully situated at the site of one of the last battles of the Civil War. The downhill dogleg 17th hole is a challenge no golfer should miss!
 Crystal Lakes, Sumter County's 9-hole municipal course, is great for a quick game after lunch or when you just have to get in another round before the sun goes down. Expansion to 18 holes will be completed in 2003.
 The Links at Lakewood, rolling through wooded hills and sprinkled with water hazards, features the area's only island green and has been rated 3.5 stars by Golf Digest. Lakewood offers private club quality at reasonable rates.
 Sumter National, carved out of a dense forest of towering pines and majestic hardwoods, is a Russell Breeden-designed course with a 15th hole that has been featured in Golf Digest. A golfer's paradise!
